The first public release of Aeon's End is currently planned for this coming Friday, June 21st - here's what you need to know.

This first Early Access release of the game will be version 0.5, and it will include the following content from the core game:

  • All 8 playable mages: Adelheim, Brama, Jian, Kadir, Lash, Mist, Phaedraxa, and Xaxos
  • Support for teams of 1 to 4 mages
  • All player cards used to construct the supply
  • 2 Nemeses, and all general and unique nemesis cards required to play against them: Crooked Mask and Rageborne
  • 4 difficulty levels ranging from "Beginner" to "Extinction"
  • Multiple ways to randomize your team, the supply, and your opponent

All backers or pre-orders who pledged at a level that includes a copy of the game on Steam will receive their key with the official Early Access release.

What is Early Access?

Steam Early Access is a great way to get the game in front of a wider audience, and get feedback from the general public to help us make Aeon's End the best game it can possibly be. A game in Early Access is under active development and it will updated regularly. You can think of it as a step between Beta and Retail release. There will be bugs, and some content is currently not available, but the game is much further along than what you might see in a Public Beta (See Steam's Early Access FAQ for more).

Over the next several months, we will continue to add features and content to the game ahead of its official retail launch later this year. Still to come:

  • The 2 remaining Nemeses: Prince of Gluttons and Carapace Queen
  • Stretch Goal bonus Mage Xae from One Deck Dungeon
  • Stretch goal player cards and nemesis cards
  • Features, performance optimizations, and bug fixes

If you want to have an active role in shaping the Aeon's End experience, a great way to do so will be to join our Discord to chat with other Aeon's End players and discuss the game as it evolves. You can send feedback from within the game, and participate in the Steam community for the game. Bug reports and suggestions are always welcome!

Launch

As we said above, we are planning to launch this coming Friday, and we have high confidence this will be the case but this is an early access launch so there are several moving parts that need to come into place. We'll be sure to keep everyone posted if there are any hiccups, but right now we don't foresee any major hurdles. Expect to receive your Steam key via your BackerKit Dashboard on Friday. Tell your friends to add the game to their wishlist now to be notified when Aeon's End is available!

If you still haven't finalized your survey, now would be a wonderful time to do so. If you are locked down and need to update your survey for any reason, please contact us directly, not via Kickstarter.

Note for mobile: Just a reminder that the tablet version of Aeon's End is planned to launch 11 days after the retail launch of the game on Steam. That will occur after the Early Access phase is complete later this year.

Prepare to save Gravehold!

We can't wait for you all to get your hands on the game later this week. We think you're really going to like how far the game has come since the Kickstarter demo late last year. Thanks for your support, there's not much longer to wait now!

.

The first Early Access release is approaching, and while we don't have a date to share with you yet, you can now add it to your Steam Wishlist from the store page! Backers will get Steam keys just ahead of release, but if you know someone who missed out on the campaign or the pre-order, let them know to wishlist the game now to be notified when it is available.

If you missed the dev stream yesterday, John spent the afternoon trying to straighten out the Crooked Mask and he was mostly successful. Check it out below!

Developer Stream Starting Soon - Featuring Crooked Mask
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 05, 2019 at 11:54:15 PM

As several of you have pointed out, it is now June! So that must mean Aeon's End is coming to Early Access any minute now, right? We've been quieter than usual these last couple months as we've been hard at work getting the game ready for its first public release. Progress is going well and we hope to get it into your hands soon.

So in the interest of being less quiet, who wants to see how it's been coming along? Head over to our Twitch channel now to see! In just a few minutes, John will be streaming development. Among other things, he'll be working on getting the Crooked Mask nemesis integrated into the game.

Just another reminder: to be sure you get your key immediately upon release, head over to BackerKit and make sure your survey is completed.
