Cyber Monday Social Update + Tier 2 Demo!

While much of the US is doing their online holiday shopping today, we know what you’ve been doing - sharing the Aeon’s End Digital Kickstarter with your friends! As a result, we’re nearly 90% funded, and there’s just over a week left.

Tier 2 Cards Come to the Demo
If you missed the announcement on Black Friday (and who could blame you?), John spent last Wednesday’s Dev Steam adding Tier 2 Nemesis cards to the game, and they are now in the playable demo as well! Send your friends to SIMMER to try it out and help get this campaign over the finish line.
But adding Tier 2 wasn’t the only thing happening on the Dev Stream last week. Designer Kevin Riley joined John to chat about Aeon’s End history and game design. Head to our YouTube channel, or watch now below:

Dev Steam #4
Tune in to our Twitch channel this coming Wednesday at 1 pm Eastern for Dev Stream #4, this time featuring David, engine programmer extraordinaire. You’ve seen how we make cards and mages in the engine, bring them into the UI, and spice them up with animation and effects. So what’s left to see? A Nemesis of course! Join David as he begins the implementation of Carapace Queen.

A Black Friday Bonus - For Free!

In the US, many people have finished their turkey and headed out into the cold to begin their holiday shopping. While all our previous games are on sale this weekend on Steam, iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon, there’s a different kind of bonus today for Aeon’s End fans.
On Wednesday’s developer stream and over the next couple of days, John & the team finished the implementation of tier 2 nemesis cards. Today, we’re happy to tell you that we’ve updated the demo to include these cards! We‘re halfway through the campaign today and just about to crest 80% funded! Thanks for your ongoing support. What have we got planned for the rest of the campaign, and what will that mean for Aeon’s End?

One thing we didn’t make for the demo is the end game screens because the demo doesn’t really show an entire game. So what might it look like when you stave off the Nameless for the day, or possibly succumb?

These are mockups and will likely change somewhat before release. One thing we’re looking to capture is the feeling of relentlessness in the fight to protect Gravehold. Even when you win, the Nameless will just be back at it tomorrow. Enjoy your victory, but then get some rest - the battle continues. Let us know in the comments what you think of this direction.
Dev Stream 3 Brings Tier 2
We know that some of you have played the demo many times, and that you want it to keep going. So for this week’s dev stream, join John as he finishes the integration of tier 2 nemesis cards in the game. Once they are all implemented and tested, we'll update the playable demo (hopefully this week). If you are in the US, maybe you’ll be able to try out some new Aeon’s End content while you’re relaxing after Thanksgiving dinner!
Special Guest Kevin Riley will be joining John at the top of the stream to chat about the digital game, and even take some questions! Watch live on our Twitch channel Wednesday at 1 pm Eastern to join in the conversation.
Some of the mobile fans have asked about getting the soundtrack as an add on so they can help contribute to the campaign. Today we’re opening up a $5 add on that will get you a copy of the original soundtrack, with music composed by Jean-Marc Giffin. Just pledge for $5, and you’ll be able to select a copy of the soundtrack in BackerKit once the campaign closes.
We have also maxed out the limited levels for joining the Alpha and Beta teams so today we are opening up several more at each level. It is unlikely that we’ll add more after today so if you want to join one of those teams, get em while they are hot!
75% funded, Bonus Pack 3 Achieved, Dev Stream 2 Posted (take 2)

I’m not sure if you were all coordinating behind our backs, but when I went to check the stats this morning, there were EXACTLY 800! However, we don’t tally them till noon so it grew a bit from there. Current stats:
Total: 321, plus 238 retweets and 297 shares on Facebook.
3 down, 1 to go! (Will we need to add more?)
That’s a current total of 856 social interactions, unlocking Bonus Pack 3! As we mentioned in Update #2, each bonus pack includes digital sleeves for player and nemesis cards as well as a digital playmat, but we also asked in that update what you thought about character skins. 85% of Twitter votes and 90% of Facebook votes said yes, so now each bonus pack will include character skins as well! And we definitely heard you on the coloring for Xaxos. Those mockups were very first thought and we’ll be sure to work to stay closer to the overall theme of Aeon’s End as we iterate on these before release.
Keep spreading the word! After the last social update, you came through and it lead to one of the bigger days of the campaign so far this past Tuesday. As a result, we’re over 75% funded and we’re now over 1000 backers. At the current rate, we only need about another 350 backers to get to funded and start unlocking some stretch goals!
